LUX Helsinki : Amazing Light Show 2024

 Hello everyone! Today, I want to share our amazing experience at LUX Helsinki, the light festival that lit up the city from January 3 to 7, 2024.

First, we saw the 'Talking Heads' by Viktor Vicsek / Limelight in front of the Oodi Library in Kansalaistori. Imagine two giant heads showing emotions not with muscles but with lights! Each head had about 4,000 LEDs, changing expressions and colors, as if they were talking to each other. It was like seeing feelings in a new light.

Next, we visited Senate Square to see Janne Ahola's 'Symmetria'. It was a play of symmetry and chaos, calm and excitement, blending together in an incredible light show. The music by Tommi Toivonen added a whole new layer to the experience.

Then, 'Helix' by Weltraumgrafik caught our eyes. It started with clear, digital patterns but slowly turned into a beautiful chaos. It was a journey from digital perfection to human-like imperfection, reminding us of the beauty in both.

The buildings around Senate Square were also part of the show, glowing in different lights. It was a spectacular view!

Despite the cold, people gathered, braving the chilly weather to watch and capture these moments.

Lazada Finds: Speaker for singing and dancing!

Welcome to Lazada/Shopee finds. 

Problem: I was looking for an activity for JM that would boost his love for singing and dancing.

Solution : A speaker from  Lazada!

What I like:

1. maganda at walang damage ang product nung dumating.

2. Magaan pwede ko dalhin kahit saang sulok ng bahay.

4. Maganda ang tunog lalo na sa music.

5. Malakas ang sounds at hindi sabog kahit naka full volume na.

6. Pag saksakan mo ng microphone, mapapakanta ka talaga.

7. After mo ma charge ilang araw na ang nakalipas, di pa rin na lolow bat.

8. May free mic na kasama.

9. Pwede sya ma bluetooth sa phone. 

Cons:

1. Medyo limited ang controls like yung echo di ma adjust 

2. Nasira na agad ang micrphone pero baka dahil sa puno ng laway ng anak ko, pag kumakanta kasi halos kainin ang mic kaya bumili ako bagong mic.

Bottomline: I recommend this speaker. Kaya kung gusto nyo ma enjoy ang music or mpakanta kayo, bilhin nyo na rin ang speaker na ito.

How we celebrated our Christmas Party at Conrad Hotel Brassiere

Today I will share with you the three delicious meals that I have tried in Lido Cocina Tsina Restaurant.

This restaurant was put up by Mr. Lido, a chinese chef.

Our orders were:
1. Drunken Lechon Macau Rice
60-hour cured pork belly-immersed in premium wine & spices.
Served on top of a bed of vegetables in brown sauce & steamed rice. PHP 215

2. Sizzling House Sze Chuan Shrimp PHP 390

3. Lomi PHP 155
I was not able to try their Pugon-roasted asado since i was craving for a seafood that time, but I will defnitely go back to try this because their see chuan shrimp was very oh so yummy.

Galindez Fambam Mexican Party Filipino Style

Today I will share with you how we celebrated milestones in our family with a Mexican themed party at the backyard of my sister's house last May 20, 2017.This is the time also when my sister and my relatives arrived from US for a vacation. So parang mini reunion na rin ito.

Decorations

As guests arrive, we made sure they start the picture taking activity on this Mexican Photo Ops corner. This was assembled by my sister using things from her house.

As you pass by the garage, you will now be at their backyard full of bantings or banderitas.

This jeepney style backdrop made up of tarpaulin.

FOOD

We just availed the service of a catering company. We set up three big tables na iba iba ang kulay ng table cloth para mas masayang tingnan.

Then, we have a margarita bar, pero hindi naman ito alcoholica kasi may mga kids kaming kasama.

We also set up a taco and  nachos bar.

Enjoyed the night with Mexican music, dances and games with guitar and maracas.

HIZON's Catering Food Tasting

Today I will share with you our Food tasting experience with HIzon's Catering. This was the time in April 2017 when we were looking for a caterer for our supposedly church wedding. We also visited other wedding venues but we only got video footage of some (like the Golden Phoenix Hotel, Aruga by Rockwell and Acacia Hotel Manila.
